IL MARE, GRANDE PARCO PUBBLICO
Fourth classified project at the international design competition “Il Mare, Grande Parco Pubblico”
A single large agro-marine park for the coastal system of the Italian BAT province (Barletta - Andria - Trani), based on the symbiotic relationship between sea and hinterland and on a concept of “caring” as a paradigm to promote social welfare and land planning. The coastal Park consists of five landscapes: the saline landscape, the river landscape, the energy landscape, the stone landscape, and Poseidon's landscape, whose perimeters depend on the morphology of the territory and the municipal borders. The agro-marine Park, in turn, consists of a series of ten parks: the Park of 100 pools, the Margherita di Savola Park, the Ofanto Park, the Rur/urban Park of the Cableway, the Barletta Linear Park, the Arisclanne Park, the stone's Park, the quarries' Park, the Bisceglie panoramic Park, and the Pantano-Ripalta eco-productive park. The agro marine park is crossed by an Intermodal network which, from the coast to the hinterland, connects: the metrò-mare, the Adriatic bike path, and the fast lanes with the rural lanes. The coastal cycleway Is an experiential path and an element to protect the coast from anthropic pressure.
